Project description

As an experienced mining contractor, Doolee was engaged to deliver the bulk earthworks package for the NSR Stage 2 enabling works. The project involved the construction of a service corridor, permanent and temporary loop roads, laydown areas, pad preparation for concrete pours and an Event Pond. In total there was 30,000m2 cut and 55,000m2 of fill.

The project also included the removal of 8 km of redundant services piping and the management and conditioning of material from several borrow pits. The enabling package centred on bulk earthworks, part of our broader civil construction offering.

The execution of the NSR enabling package relied on detailed bulk earthworks to provide a stable foundation for the following infrastructure stages. Planning, site notifications, traffic management plans, and staging of works were critical aspect to this project due to the site being adjacent to a live mine processing facility and mining workshops. As an experienced mining contractor, Doolee was engaged to deliver the bulk earthworks package for the NSR Stage 2 enabling works.Doolee undertook the civil aspects of the project working closely with NSR and other mine stakeholders to ensure smooth completion and minimum disruption to Operations and Processing within the mine. Success on the bulk earthworks package was driven by our project plant hire solutions, allowing for the rapid mobilisation of heavy machinery to the site. The project started in March 2024 with completion in November 2024.
