Project description
Our team was engaged to complete the abrasive blasting and application of CAFCO WB3 intumescent coating to the structural steel elements within 26 partially finished residential apartments in Parramatta, NSW. This project involved the removal of the existing water-damaged intumescent coating which presented unique challenges due to the need to protect the apartments’ interiors during the coating removal operation.
Given the project’s demanding timeline, we deployed multiple crews working in tandem across several apartments simultaneously, significantly reducing completion time without compromising quality or safety.
Scope inclusions
- Safe and effective removal of deteriorated intumescent coatings inside partially finished apartments
- Containment structures and negative air pressure systems to control dust
- Coordination of multiple teams across apartments for accelerated delivery
- Application of CAFCO WB3 fire-resistant coating system to required FRL
